My Top 3 Health Non Negotiables

There are few things when I comes to my health and wellbeing that I will not give on. In a world that is so fast paced and demanding things from you right and left. It can be easy to put your health to the way side. To help negate the tendency to let my health get to the wayside, I made a list of my non negotiables. Meaning these are the things that I’m not willing to give up. Do I get these perfect every day? No of course not, but I notice when I miss these things my health suffers and I cannot be the person I want to be when I’m pouring from a cup that is half full. Maybe one of these will connect with you or perhaps your non negotiables look different than mine. And that’s totally okay. Here is your gentle reminder that you can’t be your best self when you don’t pour into yourself first.

Non Negotiable #1

Eating a nourishing breakfast in the morning is essential for supporting metabolism and promoting blood sugar balance throughout the day. By starting your day with a well-rounded meal that includes protein, fibrous carbs and healthy fats, you provide your body with the nourishment it needs to fuel your day. This helps regulate blood sugar (meaning you avoid the energy crashes, sugar cravings and hanger feelings) and provide stable energy levels. A favorite breakfast right now is turkey sausage with a couple of eggs on avocado toast (chef kiss). So delish and satisfying. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Non Negotiable #2

Engaging in gentle movement throughout the day is one that can be the most challenging at times, but also one that makes me feel the most energized. Incorporating activities like short walks, yoga, or weight lifting are soooo good to support blood circulation, lymphatic flow, digestion, and blood sugar stability. Understandably, some days may be more challenging than others in finding time for movement. Sometimes it’s having dedicated time for exercise and other times it’s just parking at the back of the parking lot to get a few more steps in.

Non Negotiable #3

Incorporating mineral-rich foods into my daily meals and snacks. Minerals play a crucial role in various bodily functions, including enzyme activation, hormone production, and metabolism. My favorite sources of mineral rich foods are quality meats, fruits, vegetables and whole fat dairy. I especially love to do the HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) test on myself regularly to see what my mineral status is and to know exactly what minerals I need to bump up a little in my diet. It’s so helpful to use this test to take the guesswork out of my health and tell me EXACTLY what my body needs.
